Not just a pretty face, these Sonbar dogs are working dogs that are also competitive and love their work!
I'm sad to report that Pat Wand lost Leo in 07, RIP Leo. Below are agility pictures of Pat Wand's boy, Leo. He had more agility titles then I even knew existed! Leo and Copy (scoll down for pictures of Copy) won the two High in Trial (Agility) awards that were offered at 2004 nationals.
AJX-Agility Jumpers Excellent, 3 qualifying scores
MX-Masters Agility Excellent, 10 qualifying scores
MXJ with weaves-Master Agility Excellent with weaves-10 quailfying scores
OA-P=Open Agility, perferred
OJ-P+Open Jumpers Perferred
AX-P=Agility Excellent Perferred
Pat writes, "You don't want to ever add up how much it costs to get a basenji to MX & MXP. It took over 4 years to get those titles, then, since Feb 04 to Aug 04, Leo moved completely through Novice, Open and Excellent."
Next are the speed (racing) kids. They are owned by David and Sue Yard. Tommy is the tri male, Rocki the red female. They compete in lure, straight line and oval track races. These two love to run!

Next comes the amazing one, Sparkie UDX 2, Therapy Dog 3. She was HIGH IN TRIAL AT 06 NATIONALS!!!!! 195 IN OPEN B.
AKA Aljor's Back to Sonbar UDX 2 TD3. This girl is not a typical basenji. She got her utility dog degree in just 5 trials, it takes 3 qualifying scores to earn that degee. The typical dog (not basenji) takes about 20 trials. Then she's managed to quailfy, her first try, in both open b and utility b, at the same show. That earned her 1 of 10 legs needed for her UDX, a degree that had only been earned by one basenji before Sparkie. For each additional 10 double qualifiers, a dog gets to add a number behind their UDX title. Sparkie is the only basenji in history to have a UDX 2. Sparkie also has 2 more qualifiers, so is working on that UDX 3! Sparkie is owned, and loved by Mary and Gary Langula, trained exclusively by Mary. Following are a couple pictures of Sparkie.
